In the flesh there is racism under the US Civil Rights Laws. In the Church (Spirit) only sinners, Carnal (immature) Christians and inwardly Spiritual Saints. It is our spiritual maturity that determines how we treat each other. (2 Peter 3:18; Eph 4:17-24, then 25-32). Gal 3:28 is in heaven! Let us be blessed!

But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever! Amen. So I tell you this, and insist on it in the Lord, that you must no longer live as the Gentiles do, in the futility of their thinking. They are darkened in their understanding and separated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them due to the hardening of their hearts. Having lost all sensitivity, they have given themselves over to sensuality so as to indulge in every kind of impurity, and they are full of greed. Therefore each of you must put off falsehood and speak truthfully to your neighbor, for we are all members of one body. “In your anger do not sin”: Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry, and do not give the devil a foothold. Anyone who has been stealing must steal no longer, but must work, doing something useful with their own hands, that they may have something to share with those in need. Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen. Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.

Day by day by Grace: Deuteronomy 10:12-13 and 26:16

And now, Israel, what does the LORD your God ask of you but to fear the LORD your God, to walk in obedience to him, to love him, to serve the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul, and to observe the LORD’s commands and decrees that I am giving you today for your own good? The LORD your God commands you this day to follow these decrees and laws; carefully observe them with all your heart and with all your soul.

Deut.26:6> The LORD your God commands you this day to follow these decrees and laws; carefully observe them with all your heart and with all your soul.

Refection: Often we ask, “What does God expect of me?” Here Moses gives a summary that is simple in form and easy to remember. Here are the essentials:

(1) Fear God (have deep respect for him),

(2) Live in a way that pleases him (follow Him)

(3) Love him.

(4) Serve him with all your heart and soul.

(5) Observe his commands. We often complicate faith by adding merely human rules, regulations, and requirements. Are you frustrated and burned out from trying hard to please God? Concentrate on his real requirements and find peace. Respect, follow, love, serve, and obey him.

Prayer: Lord God of holiness, I bow to Your holy law as good and just. I desire to live what the law demands. Yet, I confess my failures, as well as my inadequacy to improve myself. I rejoice in Your better hope. By Your grace, please shape my heart into a life of growing obedience, Amen.
