Prov.19:11.
The discretion of a man deferreth his anger:and it is his glory to pass over a transgression. James 1:19 – My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry,

Luke 18:15-17
(J) would touch them: but when his disciples saw it, they rebuked them. But Jesus called unto them, and said, (K) Suffer little children to come unto me, and forbid them not; for (L) of such is the kingdom of God. Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the Kingdom of God as a little child shall in no wise enter therein.
J – Matt. 19:13> Then people brought little children to Jesus for him to place his hands on them and pray for them. But the disciples rebuked them.
K – Prov.8:17> I love those who love me, and those who seek me find me.
L – 1 Cor.14:20> Brothers and sisters, stop thinking like children. In regard to evil be infants, but in your thinking be adults.
Eph.4:14 – Then we will no longer be infants, tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of people in their deceitful scheming.
Anyone who lives on milk, being still an infant, is not acquainted with the teaching about righteousness.
In fact, though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you the elementary truths of God’s word all over again. You need milk, not solid food!
1 Pet.2:2 – Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation,
Rom. 16:19 – Everyone has heard about your obedience, so I rejoice because of you; but I want you to be wise about what is good, and innocent about what is evil.
Focus Points:
It was customary for a mother to bring her children to a rabbi for a blessing, and that is why these mothers gathered around Jesus. The disciples, however, thought the children were unworthy of the Master’s time – less important than whatever else he was doing. But Jesus welcomed them, because little children have the kind of faith and trust needed to enter God’s Kingdom. It is important that we introduce our children to Jesus and that we ourselves approach him with childlike attitudes of acceptance, faith, and trust.

1 Corinthian 1:27
But God, hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;

Ps. 8:2.> Through the praise of children and infants you have established a stronghold against your enemies, to silence the foe and the avenger.
Matt. 11:25.> At that time Jesus said, “I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children.
Reflection
It is simply breathtaking to contemplate the remarkable grace of God! Amazingly, He chose men of all trades, men of low stature, men from all walks of life—He chose you! (Me) He desired those dead in their sins to be resurrected and re-created to declare His infinite glory! What a privilege! What an incredible honor to preach the good news to a dark world! May we rejoice greatly and give praise to His glorious name!
Focus Points: Is Christianity against rational thinking? Christians clearly do believe in using their minds to weight the evidence and make wise choices. Paul is declaring that no amount of human knowledge can replace or bypass Christ’s work on the cross. If it could, Christ would be accessible only to the intellectually gifted and well educated, and not to ordinary people or to children.
Psalm 121 :: King James Version (KJV)
Psalm 121:
Theme:
We can depend upon God for help. Pilgrims must travel through lonely country to their destination; they are protected, not by anything created, but by the Creator of everything.
Focus points:
This song expresses assurance and hope in God’s protection day and night. He not only made the hills but heaven and earth as well. We should never trust a lesser power than God himself. But not only is he all-powerful, he also watches over us. Nothing diverts or deters him. We are safe. We never outgrow our need for God’s untiring watch over our lives.
verse 1 – I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.
Or, Shall I lift up mine eyes to the hills? whence should my help come
verse 2 – My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth.

verse 3) The fining pot is for silver, and the furnace for gold: but the LORD trieth the hearts.
Ps.26:2 – Test me, LORD, and try me, examine my heart and my mind;
prov.27:1 The crucible for silver and the furnace for gold, but people are tested by their praise.
it takes intense heat to purity gold and silver. Similarly, it often takes the heat of trials for the Christian to be purified. Through trails, God show us what is in s and clears out anything that gets in the way of complete trust in him. Peter says, “These have come so that your faith — of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire May be proved genuine and may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed’ (1Pet.1:7) So when tough times come your way, realize that God wants to use them to refine your faith and purify your heart.
verse 4) A wicked doer giveth heed to false lips; and a liar giveth ear to a naughty tongue.
verse 6) Children’s children are the crown of old men; and the glory of children are their fathers.

Acts 20:24 (x) none of these things move me,
Rom.8:35> Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
2Cor.4:16> For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day.
(y) that I might finish my course
1Cor.9:24-27> Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain. And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible. I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that beateth the air: But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.
(z) and the ministry
Acts 1:17> For he was numbered with us, and had obtained part of this ministry.
(a) which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify of the gospel of the grace of God.
Gal.1:1> Paul, an apostle, (not of men, neither by man, but by Jesus Christ, and God the Father, who raised him from the dead;)
The Apostle Paul had a special stewardship entrusted to Him by God’s grace. “If indeed you have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God which was given to me for you” (Ephesians 3:2). This special calling given to him by God concerned the miracle of Jew and Gentile being made one in Christ (as the body of Christ): “that the Gentiles should be fellow heirs, of the same body, and partakers of His promise in Christ through the gospel” (Ephesians 3:6). This wondrous “mystery of Christ” (Ephesians 3:4) was a distinctive emphasis of his ministry: “Of which I became a minister according to the gift of the grace of God given to me by the effective working of His power.” Paul repeatedly stated that this ministry calling was given to him by grace. “To me, who am less than the least of all the saints, this grace was given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ.”
On other occasions, Paul spoke of his ministry without referring to this special emphasis of Jews and Gentiles becoming one in Christ. Still, he described his ministry in the same terms of grace given to him. “According to the grace of God which was given to me, as a wise master builder I have laid the foundation”
(1 Corinthians 3:10). Here, Paul views his service as a spiritual builder laying a spiritual foundation for the construction of godly lives. God’s grace equipped him and sustained him in such service.
We are all called to serve our Master. In our hearts there is a desire to be used of our King. How comforting to know that our ministry will develop by God’s grace given to us. Again, humble dependence is the path to such grace for ministry. “To me, who am less than the least of all the saints, this grace was given.”
Lord Jesus, I long to serve You in ministry. I rejoice that ministry depends upon Your grace, not my abilities. Lord, I humbly bow before You, seeking You for the necessary grace to serve You in any way that You desire, in Your gracious name, Amen.
Matthew 3:16-17
And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him: And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.
Focus: The doctrine of the trinity means that God is three person and yet one in essence. I persons of Trinity are present and active. God the Father speaks God the Son is baptized: God the Holy Spirit descends on Jesus. God is one yet in three persons at the same time. This is one f God’s incomprehenisble mysteries.
verse 16 (Jesus) Mark 1:10> And straightway coming up out of the water, he saw the heavens opened, and the Spirit like a dove descending upon him:

He that loveth not his brother abideth in death.
Reflection
Here lies the unfathomable hope that all Christians share alike: By the blood of Jesus Christ, we pass out of death and despair and into eternal life full of joy.
Psalms 107:1-2,43
O give thanks unto the LORD, for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.Let the redeemed of the LORD say so, whom he hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy;Whoso is wise, and will observe these things, even they shall understand the lovingkindness of the LORD.

“God is Just”
Kneel before the LORD, our maker.
Psalm 95:6,-11>
Come , let us worship and bow down; Let us kneel before the LORD our Maker. For He is our God, And we are the people of His pasture, and the sheep of His hand. Today, if you would hear His voice, As in the day Massah in the wilderness: “When your fathers tested Me, They tried Me, though they had seen My work. “For forty years I loathed that generation, And said they are a people who err in their heart, And they do not know My ways. “Therefore I swore in My anger, Truly they shall not enter into My rest.”
2Chr.6:13; Dan. 6:10; Phil. 2:10> Now Solomon had made a bronze platform, five cubits high, and had set it in the midst of the court; and he stood on it, “knelt on his knees in the presence of all the assembly of Israel, and spread out his hands toward heaven. Now when Daniel knew that the document was signed, he entered his house (now in his roof chamber he had windows open toward Jerusalem). and he continued kneeling on his knees three times a day, praying and giving thanks before his God, as he had been doing previously.
that at the name of Jesus EVERY KNEE SHOULD BOW, of those who are in heaven, and on earth, and under the earth,
For forty years I loathed that generation,
Acts 7:36; 13:18, > ” This man led them out, performing wonders and signs in the land of Egypt and in the Red Sea and in the wilderness for forty years. “And for a period of about forty years He put up with them in the wilderness.
Heb.3:10,17.> “Therefore I was angry with this generation, and said, They alwas go astray in their heart; and they did not know My ways; ? Was it not with those who sinned, whose bodies fell in the wilderness? And to whom did He swear that they should not enter His rest, but to those who were disobedient?
Therefor I swore in My anger, they shall not enter My rest.
Heb.4:3; Deut.12:9; Ps 94:12. Heb.12:5; James 1:12; > For we who have believed enter that rest, just as He has said, ” As I swore in My wrath, They Shall Not enter My Rest, although His works were finished from the foundation of the world. for you have not as yet come to the resting place and the inheritance WHICH THE LORD your God is giving you. Blessed is the man whom THOU dost chasten, O LORD, And dost teach out of Thy laws.
He shall deliver thee in six troubles: Yea, in seven there shall no evil touch thee.
Ps.91:10; > No evil will befall you, Nor will any plague come near your tent.
Prov.1:33; 2Thess. 3:3; 2Pet.2:9. Ps. 31:15. Ps.91: 11-12> “But he who listens to me shall live securely, and shall be at ease from the dread of evil.”
But the Lord is faithful, and He will strengthen and protect you from the evil one.
then the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from temptation, and to keep the unrighteous under punishment for the day of judgment,
My times are in Thy hand; deliver me from the hand of my enemies, and from those who persecute me.
For he will give His angels charge concerning you, to guard you in all your ways. They will bear you up in their hands, lest you strike your foot against a stone.

2 Corinthians 4:3-4
(3) But even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing, (4) whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them.

Revelation 12:9 says that the Dragon, Satan, has deceived the whole world. But has the import of that really sunk in? The doubtful resistance that is in each of us does not go away easily. It remains though we are converted. It still needs to be fought and overcome.
If we do not condition ourselves to be aware and choose the right way, it will continue to exert its influence. Much can be done to lessen its influence, particularly continuing to develop our relationship with God through study and prayer.
As we exercise God’s way, the influence of Satan the Devil begins to slip. There is a negative side to this in that, as soon as his influence starts to slip away, he tries harder to ensure that it does not leave us entirely. In other words, he picks up the intensity of his pressure on us.
But do not be disheartened! I Corinthians 10:13 is still in the book. God only gives us what we can handle, and He provides a way of escape. God is always there protecting us, making sure that Satan does not increase the pressure to the point that we are unable to bear it. We can be sure that as we continue to grow, and Satan steps up the pressure, we will be equal to the task. Do we have faith in that? We had better have faith because the intensity of the pressure will get greater and greater.
Proverbs 23:4-5,12,15-16,19,23,26.
Proverbs 23: > Do not wear yourself out to get rich; have the wisdom to show restraint. Cast but a glance at riches, and they are gone, for they will surelysprout wings and fly off to the sky like an eagle. apply your heart to instruction and your ears to words of knowledge.
My son, if your heart is wise, then my heart will be glad; my most inmost being will rejoice when your lips speak what is right.Listen, my son, and be wise, and keep your on the right path.
Buy the truth and do not sell it; get wisdom, discipline and understanding. My son, give me your heart and let your eyes keep to my ways,
A faithful man will blessed. but one eager to get rich will not go unpunished.
Do not word for food that spoils, but for food that endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you. On him God the Father has placed his seal of approval.People who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge men into ruin and destruction. Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; Live in harmony with one another. Do not be poud, but be willing to associate with people of low positio. Do not be conceithed.
“The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field. When a man found it, he hid it again, and then in his joy went and sold all he had and bought that field”.
I will claim these words of Prayer.
Dear Lord of power and compassion, I magnify You for Your resurrection power. I extol You for Your matchless compassion. You have allowed me to experience these that I might grow in knowing You. Unleash Your power in my weakness. Pour out Your compassion in my sufferings. Let me know You more, through Christ I pray, Amen.
Daily Promises Psalm 145:19
Theme: A time will come when al people will join together in recognizing and worshiping God. Because God is full of love, he satisfies all who trust in him.
He will fulfil the desire of them that fear him: he also will hear their cry, and will save them.
If you are bending under a burden and feel that you are about to fall, turn to God for help. He is ready to lift you up and bear your burden.

Jesus answered and said unto them, Verily, Verily I say unto you except a man be born again, he cannot see the Kingdom of Go.
ref: John 1:13, 1Peter 1:23
John 1:3 – Children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God, (1Pet.1:23) When they hurled their insults at him, he did not retocate ; when he suffered, he make no threats, Instead, he entrusted himself to him who judges justly. Jesus answered, “Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the Kingdom of God unless the are borne of water and the Spirit. Flesh give birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to Spirit. You should not be surprised at my saying. “you must be born again. The wind blows where it pleases, you hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going’ So it is with everyone born of the Spirit.”
Reflection: When God created you from nothing, you have no basis for pride. Remember that you exit only because God made you, and you have special gifts only because god gave them to you. with God you are something valuable and unique: apart from GOD you are nothing. If you try to live without him you will be abandoning the purpose for which were made
Respect for the elders …. Leviticus 19:32
People often find it easy to dismiss the opinions of the elderly and avoid taking time to visit with them. But the fact that God commanded the Israelites to show respect for the elderly shows how seriously we should take the responsibility of respecting those older than we are. Their wisdom gained from experience can save us from many pitfalls. How do you show respect and honor to your elders?
Leviticus 19:33 speaks to how do you feel when you enounter foreigners, especially those who don’t speak your language? Are you impatient? Are you tempted to take advantage of them? God says to treat foreigners as you’d treat fellow citizens, to love them as you love yourself. In reality, we are all foreigners in this would because it is only our temporary home. View your interactions with strangers, newcomers, and foreigners as opportunities to demonstrate God’s love.

Day by Day by Grace
July 27, 2020How We are to Respond to God’s PromisesFor I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek. For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, “The just shall live by faith.” (Romans 1:16-17)
How are we to respond to God’s promises of blessing? Such promises are not automatically at work in every life that hears them. Some people respond correctly, while others respond improperly. Some enjoy the benefits of God’s promises, whereas others do not. In these two verses, we are given the necessary response to all that pertains to the gospel of grace. That response is faith. This would certainly include living by the promises of God.
Paul was unashamed of the gospel because he knew its effective character. “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation.” The good news about Jesus Christ is essentially the grace of God proclaimed to man: “the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God“ (Acts 20:24). This grace is God’s power poured out unto the saving of souls. This power is experienced by all who place their faith in the gospel, whether Jew or Gentile: “for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek.” The gospel is effective, because it holds forth God’s righteousness to sinful man, if he is willing to trust in the Lord. “For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith.”
The gospel is referred to in the Scriptures as a promise. “And this is the promise that He has promised us-eternal life” (1 John 2:25). The gospel is often stated in the form of promises: “But we believe that through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ we shall be saved… whoever calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved“ (Acts 15:11 and Romans 10:13). These gospel promises are partaken of by faith. “The just shall live by faith.”
In addition to initial salvation, the good news of God’s grace includes many other promises from God. “I will build My church…You shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free…When He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth” (Matthew 16:18; John 8:32; and 16:13). All of these promises are experienced by faith as well, because “the just shall live by faith“–continually, as well as initially.O Lord God, I want to respond to Your promises properly. How gracious that You only ask me to trust in what You have promised to do. I do not want to ignore Your promises or doubt them. I want to live by relying upon every promise You have ever made. In Your faithful name I pray, Amen.

When Christ, [who is] our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory. (Colossians 3:4)
Our Lord, Jesus Christ, who is the Lamb of God and our Bridegroom shall return! Our true life is hidden in Him and when He appears in clouds of glory, then shall our own true lives be made apparent in Him. His life of obedience is ours (cf. Romans 5:19 and Hebrews 5:8). His death and suffering is ours. So too is His resurrection to new life. And even so, His revelation in robes of splendour at the final day shall be shared with every one of His saints. So put to death the earthly things until His coming and you shall be crowned in His glory.

Daily Promises (April 2nd)

But the Lord is faithful, who shall stablish you, and keep [you] from evil. And we have confidence in the Lord touching you, that ye both do and will do the things which we command you. (2 Thessalonians 3:3-4)
Reflection
Even as we are faithless, our Father is faithful to love us and faithful to fashion our hearts to resemble His character. From His great love for us, He is our shield and comfort in times of trials and temptations as He delivers us from the enemy. Consideration of this wonderful promise initiates our continued adoration and worship to the God of Most High.
