Prayer for the people:

Psalms 28:9>Save thy people, and bless thine inheritance: feed them also, and lift them up for ever.

Prov.28:5-6> Evil men understand not judgment: but they that seek the LORD understand all things. Better is the poor that walketh in his uprightness, than he that is perverse in his ways, though he be rich.

Ref: John 7:17,18 – If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself. He that speaketh of himself seeketh his own glory: but he that seeketh his glory that sent him, the same is true, and no unrighteousness is in him.

Focus Points:   Those who attempt to know God’s will and do it will know intuitively that Jesus was telling the truth about himself. Have you ever listened to religious speakers and wondered if they were telling the truth? Test them (1) their words should agree with, not contradict, the Bible; (2) their words should point to God and his will, not to themselves.

Proverbs 26

Insights of Romans 6:23 > For (1) the wages of sin is death; but (2)the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord

ref: (1) Gen.2:17> but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat from it you will certainly die.”

Rom.5:12> Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all people, because all sinned—

Jas. 1:5> If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.

Rev.21:8> But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars—they will be consigned to the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death.”

        (2) John 3:14> Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the wilderness, so the Son of Man must be lifted up,[

Rom.2:7> To those who by persistence in doing good seek glory, honor and immortality, he will give eternal life.

Focus point:   Eternal life is a free gift from God. If it is  a gift, then it is not something we earn, nor something that must be paid back. Consider the foolishness of someone who receives a gift out of love and then offer to pay for it. A gift cannot be purchased by the recipient. A more appropriate response to a love one who offers a gift is graceful acceptance with gratitude. Our salvation is a gift of God, not something of our own doing ( Eph.2:8-9). He saved us because of his mercy, not because of any righteous things that we have done (Titus 3:5). How much more we should accept with thanksgiving the gift that God has freely given us.
